Writing apps is typically a labour of love – sure, some people strike it rich but most of us simply code apps because we want to – its fun and rewarding in its own way. Usually the joy of making something available is its own reward but sometimes a little bit of motivation is needed – luckily Microsoft Canada is running a great contest at the moment that should provide the motivation needed to finally launch that app you’ve been thinking about.
Join the developer movement and get rewarded for your efforts. You could have your App Hub fees covered by MS, maybe grab a Kinect for Xbox, some major MS Points, a windows phone, or a bunch of other cool stuff.
The contest runs for a few months but why wait – get it going now and you’ll be sure to do great.
Last month I picked up a free Windows Phone from them (a really nice Samsung Focus Flash) that my wife promptly claimed as her own so I’ll be back in this time in hopes of grabbing a new phone which I may be allowed to keep.

** UPDATE – I just confirmed with Microsoft that, yes, if you publish two accepted apps you are in line for the two levels of rewards – you select the first on your first approval and the second when you get your second app online. Oh, and check out that 3 app prize – that’s easily worth more than everything else put together!
